Upper Florida Keys & Islamorada

Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

This last week started out slow, but finished strong. On Sunday the 5th, I was to fish Andy Little from the UK along with his two sons Matt and Dave. Andy had booked me for several outing. Sunday, we were after Tarpon, however, we had to call the trip short due to a storm that came through. Monday, again found us out for tarpon action was slow; we had one on but pulled the hook on it. Tuesday, we headed offshore for some Dorado. At 14 miles we found birds and a lot of weeds and more important fish. We picked away at them throughout the morning, in the afternoon the action slowed. We came in with a dozen nice fish to 20 pounds and released some small Blackfin tuna and two small Wahoo. We were back out after Tarpon Friday night. And the fish cooperated; we had 7 on and landed four from 50 to 90 pounds. Saturday, we were again after the Silver King; the action was a lot slower. We had four fish on and landed one about 100 pounds.
