Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

Over the Christmas week I fish two days out of Miami. Government Cut was loaded with bait, pilchards were by the Fisher Island ferry dock. We went straight off and found a weed line; As soon as we put our baits out we were into Dorado. We were busy almost all day with Dorado and Bonito. We kept a dozen and released a lot. The second day was a copy of the first except; we added a Sail to the list. In the keys, The patch reef fishing has been hot do to the 60 degree water in the bay. Muttons and red grouper have been on the shallow one and nice Yellowtail and Black groupers on the deeper ones. The sailfish are biting good in 135 to 150 feet of water.

Book a fishing trip with a FULL time pro, call 1-800-320-2753.
