Upper Florida Keys & Islamorada

Capt. Izzy Donatiello

Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

Dolphin fishing a couple of weeks ago was good. The fish were out between 20 and 25 miles. Then the fish move through the boats that did find fish had to travel out 40 to 45 miles. A long ways to run for a hand full of schools. There were some kings caught off of cong reef.

On the reef, the yellowtail snappers are biting good. The bottom has produced nice mutton snappers and some black groupers. The mangrove snappers are moving out the reef. In preparation of their spawn.

In the park, the creek mouths are holding nice trout. We fished the deeper cuts last week for some sharks. We caught lemons and black tips

The bridge channels are producing tarpon on a regular basis. The fish are ranging from 70# to over a 100#.

Izzy
