TARPON FISHING STILL HOT

Capt. Izzy Donatiello
August 7, 2009
Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

Dolphin fishing remains spotty. Some boats are catching a handful; while others are catching thirty. The most consistent action is the blackfin and skipjack tuna at the humps.

The yellowtail snapper bite is good; the mangrove snappers have pretty much turned off.

Tarpon fishing remains very good in the bridge channels. Most of the fish are in the 40 to 60 pound range, but 100 pound fish are still being caught.
