Tuna bite is on

Capt. Izzy Donatiello
October 20, 2008
Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

The blackfin tuna are on the offshore humps. The average weight is 10 pounds; however, the twenty plus ones can be taken with live bait.It is important to place you baits far back behind the boat. On the way out check any birds and debris for dolphin and wahoo.

The yellowtail snappers are bitting good on the reef. We been also catching a good number of mutton snappers off the bottom.

Kingfish are also on the edge of the reef out to 250 feet. The fish are in the 10 to 15 pound range. There are some sails and dolphin mixed in.

Tarpon are still around the bridges: a dead bait on the bottom will do the trick.
