All's Well That Ends Well!!!

Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report

Just off the full moon and fishing behind and during 2 Redfish tournaments in a row you would know my clients wanted to catch Redfish on the 4 hour trip this past Sunday morning June the 22nd…

There was no talking them out of it. They said if they caught a fish that day they wanted it to be a Red!!!!

Knowing there would be a boat in every creek I went in I decided to make a little run north of Jacksonville in the ICW to a small creek that I was sure would have fish in it but wasn't sure how they would react because I have not fished them in a few months. I was pretty sure we would not see another boat.

My clients were willing to take that chance even though it would be the only area we would have time to fish if we made that run. I really don't like to run to far on 4hr trips if I can avoid it just because of the fishing time you loose. Like my Dad always said if you don't have bait in the water you're not going to catch a fish!!!!

When we got to the creek there were no boats there like I expected and the Redfish were on the move. It didn't take long to get the first one hooked up. I was on the trolling motor and they were throwing minnows on jig heads.

We caught quite a few Reds in that couple of hours. If I had to count I would say at least 15. The bulk of them were small but still plenty of fun on light tackle…

We also managed to hook up a few heavy weights. All's well that ends well. Back to the dock before 11am and everyone got to catch some Redfish.
