Good Bottom Bite - Snapper and Grouper

Capt. Chad Starling
January 1, 2017
Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report

Picked up a last minute phone call this morning. The crew was available and so was I so we met at the boat ramp at noon. Made the run 11 miles offshore and returned to the dock at 3p. The bait we used was squid and frozen sardines on a 3-way swivel rig. We had 6/0 owner circle hooks on an 80lb mono leader. The reels we were using were penn fathoms and shimano torium / trinidad on uglystik MH jigging rods. We threw back numerous red snapper, we had a good bag of black sea bass, a 20lb grouper, and a fat yellowtail snapper. Great way to end the year!!
