Jacksonville Best Inshore Fishing...starts here:

Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report

Wheww....it was a heck of a July.

H-O-T, as all get-out, as usual. With the St. Johns River water recouping after the effects of not only Tropical storm Beryl, but then Debby just a few weeks later.

And my best customers were usually under 10 years old. YEP, I did so many "kids trips" it was insane. But that's jus' fine by me.

I have such fun watching the kids catch and run around the boat all excited. No matter what's on the end of their line.

Also, set a "record". With the number of "kids trips" this past month. And a record for the trip with the youngest and most. One day I took out two dads, and four, 4 year olds!!!!
Two boys and two girls.

Really should have had a hidden camera going on that trip. Because we had one throwing-up, all 4 crying, all 4 yelling & screaming with excitment, and even one Rod-Bully in the crowd.

Plus I did one of the best "run & gun" shrimp boat shark fishing trips, with some ole friends and their two kids, I have ever done.

Here's the story:

------------------------

But the last weeks of July had the St. Johns River water super PRIME. Prime for TROUT fishing, "which is my passion."

Or let me say, the water in an area that I can frequent easily, was PRIME! I hate boat rides.

No L-O-N-G, boat rides. So when that water got really good within my stomping gounds. I was like a kid in a candy store.

More Fishing Reports:

Inshore fishing the St. Johns River, and estuaries around Jacksonville, Florida provides year round opportunities for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and Sheepshead to name just a few. Plus, seasonal favorites such as Shark, Tripletail and Pompano. The legendary Mayport Jetties are mile long piles of huge granite boulders that protect the inlet to the St. Johns River from the Atlantic Ocean. Around these jetties is some of the best and most consistent fishing.
