March Winds

Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report
Along with March comes the high winds but it want stop the changes in the season. It will make it hard to get out at times…..
We are in the middle of a good blow right now and are expecting another one at the end of the week.
The fishing has been a little slow for me this past week for what ever reason. The Trout have been spotty and the size hasn't changed much. It is only a matter of time before all the changes start.
I have been getting a few small Flounder which is good and at the right tide some slot size Reds mostly on the low side 19 to 22 inches. There has also been plenty of Drum at the jetties and in the river and the spawning Sheepshead should show any time along with the Spanish mackerel.
My wife requested a trip this past Sunday the 2nd of March and of course she picked the best weather day this past week. She doesn't get out as much as she used to but she can certainly fish. I want say how bad she put it on me but she did. My excuse is that I put her on the fish. That has to count for something!!!!!!!
We caught a hand full of small Trout and a few Reds. She did catch the nicest Red and a decent Flounder.
Until next time tight lines Capt. James Howard
