On The Move...

Capt. James Howard
April 22, 2010
Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report

Another gigging trip in the books for 2010. There was only about 2 hours of dark left at the right tide to gig last Sunday morning so I took some rods to do some fishing when the sun came up.

Since we didn't have long to Flounder gig we were limited to one area and I guess considering the time at hand we did pretty well. We ended up with 8 Flounder in the 3 to 4 pound range…

Then it was off to throw artificial for Trout. We didn't find many decent Trout but we did get into the Reds.

Throwing sinking twitch bait we boated 5 Red fish in the 24 inch range and only 2 small Trout. The Red fish were a great fight on the light tackle and the way they hit that twitch bait is exciting…

So we headed to the house at the time most people were starting out with a nice box of fish. What a great way to start the day!
