TROPHY TROUT TIME

Capt. Dave Sipler
February 11, 2014
Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report

I was talking to a crabber buddy of mine, after handing him a wrench so he could fix his trap puller while at the inlet.

We quickly discussed 2014 so far....He stated that so far in the crabbing biz, this year is the separation between the "Men and the boys".

Well as a Trout tracker, looking for either a lot of them, or if not a lot, giants will do. I told him it was a slow start for me. But the start was back in November!!

BUT, I'M GLAD TO SAY THAT THE SLOW START IS OVER!

I believe it was that we didn't have much of a winter till at least after Christmas. Yeah, yeah, we had so serious cold fronts. but then two days later it was back to 78 degrees.

Personally, I love winter. Deep wintery weather.

BECAUSE IT SEPARATES THE MEN FROM THE BOYS!

I'm here to tell ya'll.....BIG GATOR TROUT SCHOOL
is now in SESSION!!!!!

More Fishing Reports:

Inshore fishing the St. Johns River, and estuaries around Jacksonville, Florida provides year round opportunities for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and Sheepshead to name just a few. Plus, seasonal favorites such as Shark, Tripletail and Pompano. The legendary Mayport Jetties are mile long piles of huge granite boulders that protect the inlet to the St. Johns River from the Atlantic Ocean. Around these jetties is some of the best and most consistent fishing.
