Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report
Looks like the Trout have finally showed up to stay for a while. I was able to slip a little me time in this past Wednesday to check out some of my good Trout spots before my charters started up this week and next.
I worked 2 areas throwing suspending baits catching 6 to 8 fish at each spot. There was a lot more fish there but I left them alone after I got my FIX!! I released 9 fish that were in the 21 to 25 inch range. Those are nice Trout.
I file the barbs off of my hooks so I can release them quicker. I took 3 of the smaller fish home for dinner that night and had a great morning on the water. As much as I love putting people on fish I still need a little me time…….
Thursday the 1st with Gary Rhodes we went strait to one of the spots I had fished the day before. Gary is not much on throwing artificial so I dropped the pick and we float fished with live shrimp.
It was 3 solid hours of nice 3 to 4 pound Trout. 19 was the last count. And you know there are some missed fish when your float fishing. We also caught some big Lady fish and some 5 pound Jacks. Another one of those days when you stay at one spot the whole trip. You got to love that.
Thanks Gary for a great time.
Till next time tight lines Capt. James Howard
