JEFF WOOD AND HIS DAD AND UNCLE WORE THEM OUT TODAY.

JEFF HAD BACK TO BACK GATOR TROUT 6 & 7 POUNDS!
(yes....back to back catches)

IT WAS ROCK-N-ROLL (aka: rough as a cobb) FISHING, ONLY FOR THE TOUGH.

BUT WORTH IT. NO FEAR, CAPT DAVES'S "JETTY DESIGNED" BOAT, CAN HANDLE IT, IF YOU CAN.
THIS IS HALF OF WHAT THEY CAUGHT, THE REST WERE RELEASED.

BESIDES THE TROUT THEY ALSO HAD A FLOUNDER AND BLACK DRUM.

FISHING WITH THE "FLOAT FREAK", YOU CAN CATCH TROUT JUST LIKE THIS, TOO.

Jacksonville Fishing Forecast:

BIG TROUT. The time is NOW!
In between the fronts or during them...it depends on how tough you are. Because today we sat in some seriously soupy seas. And they were there.

While other boats hid in the calm protection of the jetty rocks. A few looked on, and attempted to come over and fish near us......but they literally lasted just minutes, before moving.

Sometimes jetty fishing is a "quest for adventure." Either you have the stomach for it, or or you don't.

Target Species:

Speckled Trout

More Fishing Reports:

Inshore fishing the St. Johns River, and estuaries around Jacksonville, Florida provides year round opportunities for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and Sheepshead to name just a few. Plus, seasonal favorites such as Shark, Tripletail and Pompano. The legendary Mayport Jetties are mile long piles of huge granite boulders that protect the inlet to the St. Johns River from the Atlantic Ocean. Around these jetties is some of the best and most consistent fishing.
