A "good" Wet year so far......

Capt. Dave Sipler
September 21, 2012
Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report

Yep, it's always a good year, when it's a "wet" year.

The St. Johns River needs it, I need it. With tthe water in my area pretty darn salty, any time I can get alot of rain over it and into the river the fishing is always so much better.

Thanks to T.S. Buryl and Debby, and loads of other daily, weekly showers. It's been a banner summer....although it sure did start out kinda slow.

I was just anxious. It tooks not just weeks, but rather what seemed like a month or more for T.S. Buryl to effect my area after enough rain to make for some serious flooding in low lying areas.

But that meant one thing to me......TROUT!!!!!!

And now, we're kicking into the FLOUNDER season.

So far in the past two weeks we've had several 6 pounders, many a 4, and loads of just plain, "drop that fish in the box" type Flatties.

Using the perfect sized "finger Mullet" for bait has made this very easy.

The Redfish, the Flounder, the Trout all like themselves a finger Mullet!

Even big Croakers are eating my Mullet.

It's been cooler, and I can't wait till Jacket weather. And then comes "fleece" weather. And if we get "fleece, and foul weather pants and jacket" weather I don't mind it either!

Filters the men from the boys, and clears the way for un-obstructed winter days out on the river.

So, Go Hunting, Go watch Football. Just make sure you "C'mon down" and get yourself some Vitamin D and help me catch Trout to Sheepshead, all the way till next April and May.

Cause, this is my favorite time of year. And November is my Favorite month.

So go to: www.captdaves.com and check out the reports, Videos, and send me a message and include what dates you're looking for.

After the Fla/Ga. football game, Before the game??

Remember to get the best days around Thanksgiving booked,
N-O-W!

Here's some of the crew members who have been whackin some Flatties lately, along with Trout and Redfish.

More Fishing Reports:

Inshore fishing the St. Johns River, and estuaries around Jacksonville, Florida provides year round opportunities for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and Sheepshead to name just a few. Plus, seasonal favorites such as Shark, Tripletail and Pompano. The legendary Mayport Jetties are mile long piles of huge granite boulders that protect the inlet to the St. Johns River from the Atlantic Ocean. Around these jetties is some of the best and most consistent fishing.
