Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report
Our water temperature has hit the 50 degree mark after some extra cold weather this past week. When it gets that cold you can almost forget about the Red fish. They become so lethargic it's not really worth messing with them…
It's time to stick with the Sea Trout and the Yellow mouth Trout. Also The Sheepshead are a good bet even though they have been off and on…
On a trip the 11th of January 2009 with Steve Kelly and his son Collin we went right to the Trout and started throwing plastics. The bite was a little slow but there were still quite a few fish there…
We decided to spend the last hour trying to catch a Red fish or two but that wasn't going to happen for us that day…
Despite working at least 6 spots that I knew were holding fish we just couldn't get that one bite that might have sparked the schools of Red fish we were on. Oh well that's the way it goes sometimes.
Thanks to the Trout it was still a decent trip and also a great day to be on the water.

Jacksonville Fishing Forecast:
Yellow mouth and Sea Trout are the most abundant inshore right now. Lots of Reds but they are a hard bite. Sheepshead in the river.
