Jupiter, Palm Beach offer exciting snook and Tarpon action

Capt. Craig Korczynski

Jupiter - Saltwater Fishing Report

Time after time mother nature continues to baffle us. weather patterns are not consistent and by no means can we figure them out. Day by day we wait for the next curve ball of weather, we are given.

The inshore waters calm and peaceful for many, offers plenty of jack action. Jacks are very aggressive taking any live bait or top water plug on the surface. Ladyfish and pompano also wondering are local channels, take Live shrimp or jigs tipped with dead bait.

Snook fishing closed December 15, but anglers can still expect great linesider action. Snook are schooled up near docks, sea walls and channels. live baits and jigs produce double digit numbers of catch. Fly fisherman time to get the drag screaming, snook fishing at night under lights, offers impressive jumps and rod bending action.

Silver kings rolling on surface get the heart beat going, live baits tossed in there vicinity provide explosion sand acrobatics. Jigs also work I like swimming jigs worked with the tide, feel for the bump and set up. Schooling fish offer plenty of hook ups, average size of the tarpon has ranged from 2 to 25 pounds, with bigger fish in deeper passes.

Spanish mackerel are abundant up and down are local beaches and inlets. Jigs, spoons, wire leader and the coolers will start to fill up. Finding the mackerel is done by fishing breaking the surface or mackerel seen crashing the surface.

Well that is the fishing report for the past week, Hope you all enjoyed. remember you can't catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up. Tight lines! Capt. Craig korczynski, phlatsinshorefishing.com, 5616444371
