Jupiter - Saltwater Fishing Report

If the current ain't sweepin', we're weepin'!
After a week or two of unusually cold water conditions, the gulfstream has pushed in close to shore bringing water temps. back up to 80-82 degrees.
On the edge, at 120 feet the current is sweeping at 4 knots an hour. We've started fishing off Lost Tree and ended up to just about due east of St. Lucie Inlet before we knew it.
Along the way we were greeted by mostly bonito, but the kingfish, although not in great numbers have been biting pretty good as well. Our largest has been 22-25lbs. We've caught most of our king in 80-90 feet east of Jupiter Inlet. To remain on the king school we had to continually throttle south back to our waypoint or we would drift too far north and get covered with bonito. The best bite for us has been at around 11am-1pm.
Sailfishing trickled off after a spectacular summer run. We've only seen one this week, and had him bust the leader after an acrobatic display on the surface. Reports are that south, off Boynton the sail bite has been better later in the day.
Dolphin have made numerous appearences close to sure, decent weedlines have brought in the dolphin as close as 100 feet. In between battles with the "bones", we've had dolphin show up for lunch, sometimes alone, sometimes in large schools. Most have been 6-10lbs, we did catch one cow close to 30lbs. yesterday.
Snook fishing has been awesome the last few days inside Jupiter Inlet. We haven't fished for them, but when returning to the inlet from offshore the boats we seen fishing for them have been slamming them pretty good.
We did see some tarpon chasing bait south of the Juno pier in morning, couldn't get the bite.
Baitfishing has been as good as it gets. From Hobe Sound to Juno has been solid with bait, sardines and cigars in 20 feet give or take and treadfins and pilchards in the surf. The "green roofs" are most consistent, as well as the new buoys at the Juno pier. Jupiter Inlet is loaded with greenies and is probably the reason the snook have turned on.
Although we haven't done much of it, the bottom fishing had been good for yellow tail and mutton snapper.
