Summertime Sails

Capt. Scott Collins
July 1, 2016
Jupiter - Saltwater Fishing Report

We went out 6/30/16 to experience good fishing. Lucas and his Mom lou were aboard from England. The day started out with the first bait out getting lit up by a sailfish. Lucas landed his first sail after a 20 minute battle on spinning gear. It was a beautiful fish! As the day progressed we landed a few big bonitas and amberjack heads. The sharks were all over our fish! They would not let us get any big Aj's to the boat in one peice. After having enough action we are about to reel the baits, another sailfish is on. We get a few jumps out of a beautiful sail and the hook came out by the boat. What a way to end the day.

In general, bottom fishing has been good for snappers. Snook fishing is also great in the inlet right now. Dealing with all the other boats can be frustrating but those fish are there. Night fishing has been a good way to beat the heat. We have been catching a bunch of snook on light spinning gear and a few tarpon in the mix. We have a few open dates in July. Visit www.gettinluckyfishing.com to get hooked up. See you on the water.
