A whopping 677 sailfish were released by 35 boats in three days of fishing during this year's 74th annual Silver Sailfish Derby, which ended Saturday. That's the highest per-boat daily average (6.45) in the history of theoldest, continually run billfish tournament in the world.

In Miami the action is great to. We had 3 to 4 sailfish on each trip since returning early in the week. The action is also good on Kingfish, some nice Dolphin and Cobia, if your lucky and find a ray.
While fishing the tournament last week we encountered some crazy action, weather and wind. One day the winds were blowing up to 50 mph as the front pushed though and we were fighting a double at the same time. It was different fishing from here with the kites. Up There we were finding balls of bait and dropping the bait down on the penn 16 vs's to the bait and hooking up. At times we had 3 and 4 on at a time. We caught a quad and had two fish to the knots on the spool, on Penn 950's, so you can imagine how much line was out. Though we did manage to catch a quad each of the 3 days. Anyways it was a blast and i can't wait till next week to try again in the keys.
