Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

Excitment on the Edge
With some out of state customers on the Boat, and a request for SHARKS, I decided to let my co-captain Niel who specializes in catching sharks run the Boat for the Day. The customer wanted a big Hammerhead and Niel and Mate Jimmy David had heard of some big fish being seen in the area off Miami Beach in 450 ft. So, they caught some some Bonito's around the Sea Bouy and proceeded to work in that Direction. Before they got to there indended location they found a hawk bird on the water and caught a nice bunch of Dolphin, 40 to be exact. They were biting Chunks of the intended shark bait bonito best. The dolphin were in 250 ft. on a slight weed line with a touch of north current on it. After the Dolphin pause they proceeded to the known Hot Spot, with two bonito's on the Flat lines a big bonito on the bottom and several Large Blue runners fished off the kite on Fifty internationals, they were ready.
It only took several minute's before Capt. Niel spotted a big fish swimming through the spead. The rigger popped and bingo they were hooked up. One hour later they had there prize, an estemated three hundered pound hammerhead shark. Before the day was over they spotted several more sharks but did not get a bite out of them. With a few more Dolphin as the day pass the customers had a great time. The day was a Success on the Cutting Edge again.
