Miami and Key Biscayne – offshore

Capt. Quinton Dieterle
May 17, 2001
Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

Dolphin Bite is Hot

The last few days has been producing lots of Dolphin and a few Sailfish and Blackfin Tuna. The dolphin have been anywhere from the edge out to 900 ft. Most fish are being found on Bonito Birds flying low to the water. Some are on Hawks but the bigger schools are in the grass or on the Small Bonito birds. The fish are biting good, and bonito chunks or Bally-hoo chunks are working fine. Sailfish and Tuna are on the edge for those who get there limit of Dolphin quickly, they are biting pichards and goggle eyes best. In front of the Light house has been the best action. Bottom fishing should start to get better with the Full Moon this month. Gary Lawson fished this weekend for Muttons but said the fish are on the wrecks but are not biting yet. Tight Lines.
