Miami and Key Biscayne – offshore

Key Biscayne - Saltwater Fishing Report

What a weekend!!!!!!!!

Friday started as everyday on the Cutting Edge, Baitfishing. I did not want to waste alot of time because the full moon was up all night and I knew the bite would be early, but bait was tough and we did not get out till, 9 o clock. Things sounded slow but a few fish had been caught. I knew If some were around we would get some. Things started off slow, but about 30 minutes into the fishing time we got our first sail. We got one but also missed one on the short left kite bait. So after releaseing the first of the day I hauled ass south of the area I expected the school of sailfish to be traveling. As soon as the first two baits had entered the water, bingo there they were. Several fighting for each bait, what a sight. We caught two out of those and began to chase the school again. Bingo as soon as we stopped they were up again, this time another double. That gave us three for the morning but we werent done yet. Another run to the south and we were on again. The morning ended with a total of 6 sailfish and 3 dolphin. Our customers Jenn and Brook Tolman were the hero;s of the day. The afternoon was not as tough but we got 3 out of 5 sailfish and had a assume show of sailfish jumping behind the boat. Saturday Niel ran the boat and the weather was not so great, the seas were calm but for us southern boys, cold is not good. Only 2 fish Saturday morning and he said he was glad to head home early. Just to damn cold !!

Sunday was my day back on the Edge, Bait was tough but with mate Gregg Yaffa back on board for the day as first mate he was excited and ready for the challange. It took a while to get bait but once we had enough we were off to the south. Fishing also started off slow with our Anglers only having 3 by lunch. That changed in the afternoon. It had to be the most fun in a while, Doubles and triples, bites on the flat lines and fish up chasing freebies behind the boat. A day total of 10 for the edge on Sunday. Monday I took the morning off to do my the lawn and do the home duties but was back out again at 12. The conditions changed and the current was moving south, with green water. No Problem. We just went to the north instead of going south and caught two sailfish, great seeing there were only a couple caught among all the boats to the south.

Our Lucky anglers on saturday were Niko lauw and his guests. Tight Lines
