Tarpon are Coming

Capt. Richard Burson
March 19, 2009
Key Largo - Saltwater Fishing Report

The tarpon are coming!!!! The little ones are here (30-70lbs) I have been chartering for 30+ years and I am very excitd each year when the tarpon begin to migrate back! Tarpon are such a wonderful fight because the jump/splash and cause such a rush to travel your entire body!

The best time to catch these fish is at night! Last night we had 15 shots at tarpon and 3 brought to the boat! You can fish them during the day however the big boys will be more likley to eat at night.

Check out my website frequently for photos of the latest catch!

More Fishing Reports:

I am a South Florida native who has been fishing the local waters from Biscayne Bay to Islamorda for over 20 years. After obtaining my captain's license, I have been chartering light tackle and fly fishing enthusiasts in the Key Largo area and Everglades National Park. My fishing speciality is targeting Snook, Redfish and Sea Trout in the backcountry and Bonefish, Tarpon and Permit on the ocean side flats that surround the upper keys. Lets have a great day on the water!
