Key Largo - Saltwater Fishing Report
Happy New Years to all!!
I got a call over the weekend around 5:30pm from a couple guys who wanted to head down and tighten some lines. After a short conversation, I loaded up the boat and headed to the dock. They got here about 8:00pm and were super excited about night fishing. I fired her up and we raced off to a not so far spot that has been pretty good. On the ride there, I explained the way it typically goes and hoped the fish Gods would not make a liar out of me.
We got there and flipped on the light and I showed them how we would be fishing. As if on que, the fish started busting mullet and their faces lit up. It was only about 20 minutes and they had their first Snook on pulling drag. After a couple pics and high fives they were back at it. The bite only got better as the night went on. Danny hooked a nice fish that wrapped him in the bushes, but was patient and somehow got the big girl out. It was a beautiful 32" Snook.
We called it a night around 1:30am and zipped back to the dock. They boated about a dozen Snook and were amazed at the activity and sounds of the fish crashing. I look forward to seeing these guys again.

Key Largo Fishing Forecast:
The flats should be on fire the next couple months with the cooler weather. Schools of Trout should make their presents known and the Redfish will be all kinds of happy waving their tails.
