Key Largo - Saltwater Fishing Report
Reef/Offshore-11/29/08
The weather this week off Key Largo was great with moderate to light winds mostly out of the north and dry sunny days. The gulf stream moved in and provided steady current to float our chum and killer rips and color change offshore.Reef fishing was as good as it gets with ½ day trips bagging hog fish, mangrove, yellowtail and mutton snapper.Macks both Spanish and cero are in but not as fast as last week. Grouper are still mostly short in the shallows but we did pick out a few keeper gags on live ballyhoo.
Bar and some small amberjack have shown up As well. Got Offshore on 2 trips this week and landed 2 for 3 hookups on sailfish also bagged kingfish, blackfin and some nice dolphin. With the Gulf stream close so was the action just off the reef and out a bit.
tight lines Capt.Bob
