Capt. Bob Fernicola
June 24, 2009
Key Largo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Winds out of the west for the past 2 weeks have been pushing the offshore action out to the 20 mile range and beyond so this past week I have been fishing the backcountry. Trout fishing has been fast with jacks and ladyfish mixed in. Fishing mostly with lures lots of fish on the drift. A school of black drum

have been pushing around for the past 2 weeks with fish 5 to 8 lbs and a few fish around 12 lbs. We have been getting in to the black drum every trip by kicking the motor witch gets the school close to the surface to pin point there location. Some reds, big jacks and mangrove snapper tight to the bank as well.Snook have been on and off, the bite was good yesterday we released 7 fish up to 8 lbs. With Action all day and mixed bag fishing the backcountry has been a fun trip.

Tight lines Capt. Bob
