Key Largo Fishing Report 6/22/12
In the last month the fishing off Key Largo has been good for all types of trips. Inshore reef, offshore dolphin, backcountry and night snapper has been good. On the reef we have found hogfish, macks, snapper, grouper, permit
,jacks, shark and cuda.Good action with light tackle and a good shot at some big fish on live ballyhoo. Night fishing has been good with yellowtails and mangrove snapper on the edge of the reef line. Backcountry is a solid bet with lots of trout on the drift and reds, snook
and jacks close to the mangroves. Offshore the dolphin bite has been on the far end for good size school fish
and a few slammers as well. Best fishing this year for dolphin seems to be right after the full moon. Also mixed in with the dolphin are some Wahoo and black fin tuna. Every day is different offshore but we have found fish on all trips. Lots of fishing options this time of year in the Keys.
