Key Largo Fishing Report 4/10/13 Backcountry/Inshore Reef Fishing
Backcountry fishing has stayed good threw the mild cold front that passed threw this past weeek.Snook bite is back on with some fish up to around 10 lbs,

also found smaller snook tight to the mangroves. still big trout around as well

and in good numbers. While casting the shorelines with jigs we also got some decent mangrove snapper, good sized jacks, pompano and some small reds. With light tackle (10 lb spin) these fish are a blast to catch in 1 to 3 feet of water.
Key Largo Reef fishing has been very mixed bag in the past week. Every day has shown us different species. Still a light tackle casting type of fishing in relatively shallow water the rock and reefs off Key Largo have produced red, black and gag grouper, mangrove, yellowtails and mutton snapper, cero and Spanish macks, hogfish

,porgies, nice pompanos, small permit, schools of bluefish, cobia,

jacks, cuda and sharks. Fishing with shrimp, cutbaits and live ballyhoo has been keeping the rods bending.Steady action just a short way on the Atlantic side inshore reef fishing in Key largo has been a fun trip.

Tight lines Capt. Bob
