Key Largo - Saltwater Fishing Report

In the Past few weeks we have been fishing in the backcountry as Florida bay is know open to fishing again. The bay was closed due the Fed. Goverment shut down. Key largo backcountry fishing has been very good with water levels up and plenty of fish around.Every were we stoped we found fish, and a good species count.Lots of small snook and some big ones around as well.Redfish, snapper, seatrout, jacks and shark.weather it be in the creeks, gassflats or shorelines there is action in all directions. Both lure and bait have been working well.

Key Largo reef fishing has also been a good option for fast action on light tackle and med. spin gear.Snapper, hogfish, yellowtails, gouper, macks, shark, jacks and assorted other speicec have been the norm.Hitting the reefs in 18 to 25 feet of water has been productive.Baiting with ballyhoo (live or cut) and fishing shrimp has been working well.

Key Largo Fishing is alive and well weather it be reefs out front or in the backcountry.
