Key Largo Offshore Fishing 1/24/10
Mother nature gave us a pass with 2 to 4 foot seas beyond the reef in the blue water this past weekend.Offshore was my Clients first choice so we we went for it,Starterd the day sitting on a shallow reef to get some ballyhoo to fish with in the deep water. While the chum line called in our bait I set up my angler with light tackle casting shrimp.First few cast got hit right off and we soon had a nice bonefish in the boat (this time of year it is common to find this prime game fish hanging in the deeper waters of the reef). In the next Hour we had jack crevell, bluerunners, spanish macks, mutton snapper, porgys and a 20lb blacktip shark plus about 25 ballyhoo to go offshore with.A short ride off and we were setting baits in the Blue water.Shortly after we got the last line out we snapped a flat line and bagged a nice cero mack about 8 lbs.Hung around the sailfish fleet for the next hour and did not see it happening so we headed to deeper water.Found a rip with scattered weed and the downrigger hooked up a nice dolpin.Stayed with this for a while and ran in to dolphin 3 times with one double hook up.Got 5 fish between 8 and 15 lbs.Saw some small blackfin here and there but did not strike any that bright afternoon.

Also bagged cudas to 20 lbs on the rip and along the reef as well.
Tight lines Capt. Bob
