Key Largo - Saltwater Fishing Report

Had a couple of breaks in the wind last week to get clients out beyond the reef.

Targeted Sailfish Thursday later in the afternoon using dredges. Quickly raised one and got the release. Shortly after the Sailfish was blasted by a cobia. Made for a fun afternoon. Got covered up with school size dolphin along a color change in 160ft before calling it a day.

On Saturday we focused on Mutton Snappers. It started off a little slow as expected, but got red hot late in day. After running out of live bait, we were doubling up on the Mutton Snappers using chicken rigs baited with squid!

I use custom built Adrenaline Spiral Wrapped live bait rods matched with Shimano Talica 16s/20's lethal combo and easy on my clients that only get to fish once or twice a year in the Florida Keys.

Target Species:

Mutton Snappers, Wahoo, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi
