Chasing Fish on the Key West Flats

Capt. Lenny Leonard
July 26, 2016
Key West - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing has been quite good through the month of July.
The flats off Key West have been holding a fair amount of permit. Fishing both the backcounty and the ocean side flats.
Early morning tarpon are still going strong when the tide & winds cooperate. Decent size tarpon and generally happy to eat a fly or an artificial. The bonefish are always fun to chase. They are pretty user friendly if you can find the schools. Definitely a great fish to hunt on the flats. Looking forward to more great summer time fishing.
