Hot in July!

Capt. Eric Evans

Key West - Saltwater Fishing Report

July has been hot! Temperatures have been up and the fishing has been good here in Key West. The wrecks offshore of Key West have been producing amberjacks, yelloweye snapper, vermilion snapper, mutton snapper, and some quality grouper! The deep sea bite was good for the pelagic fish like dolphin and wahoo earlier in the month.

I have been doing a lot of half day trips in the morning to beat the afternoon heat and it has been action packed. For those who are looking for something bigger to fight the sharks have been around stealing some of the fish off the wrecks we have hooked up, so if you want an extra fight, the sharks are here!

If you are looking for quality eating fish the golden tile fish and grey line tiles have been biting really well and these fish are excellent table fare.
