Key West Fly and Spin Fishing Charters Lower Keys and Key West

Capt. Steve Hancock
April 23, 2013
Key West - Saltwater Fishing Report

The Tarpon Fishing and weather are heating up! The Large migratory Tarpon are here in the Lower Keys and Key West. We are catching them mainly on fly but they can be caught on spin fishing gear as well for the none fly fishing folk. The large tarpon average 100 lbs and leap and pull hard when hooked. Permit are also around in schools on various flats. Permit will take a live crab or a well presented fly. Redfish are another flats species which have been seen and caught on the flats. They have been schooled up searching the flats. Sharks, Jacks, and barracudas are also fun to catch in addition to the big three. Give us a call to book your flats fishing exprience while the Tarpon are plentiful. Captain Steve Hancock

Target Species:

Tarpon, Permit, Bonefish, Sharks, Barracuda
