Permit are Marching Again!

Capt. Dexter Simmons
March 3, 2008
Key West - Saltwater Fishing Report

March 3, 2008. Permit are Marching! The winds of March are upon us and the sickle tails are showing on the grass flats of the Keys. We should be in store for some outstanding Permit fishing from now through at least October, with March and early April, June, July, August, September, and early October prime time.
Permit are available on both the Atlantic and Gulf flats as are Bonefish and resident Tarpon are in the creeks and channels. Last week Roger Dunn of Vermont and his two sons joined Capt. Dexter for some great early season Tarpon
fishing!
Bonefish are on the flats and ready to feed! There were schools of Bonefish scattered around the flats the past few days and when anglers have been able to cast into high winds, they have been rewarded.
We are also catching Barracuda, Shark, Mutton Snapper, Sea Trout, Pompano, Ladyfish, Jack Crevalle, and Cero Mackerel. When you are ready to book a charter or just talk fishing,
contact Capt. Dexter Simmons by casting your net line to http://www.keywestflyfishing.com or by TOLL

Key West Fishing Forecast:

With water temps in the mid to high 70's and even into the low 80's, the Permit should show in larger numbers throughout March and into April. The Tarpon and Bonefish will also turn on as temps increase this spring, making the Grand Slam action terrific in Lower Keys waters.

Target Species:

Permit, Tarpon, Bonefish
