Predators Invade the Flats!

Northwest winds have dampened the fishing options for a few days here in the Keys. While we wait for the winds to diminish and to shift back into the East, this is a good time to reassess the season and to reload for the coming winter season. Keyword: PREDATOR. Barracuda, Small Shark, Jack Crevalle are all possible angling targets when Tarpon, Bonefish and Permit are scarce.Barbara caught this big Jack Crevalle on fly during the winter. Often we can find Jacks like this one schooling up, chasing bait in channels around Key West and the Lower Keys. Baby Tarpon that reside in the creeks and channels year 'round are nearly always available, when they are willing to make an appearance. Permit are nearly always available on the edges of channels, especially during falling tides. Bonefish are available during mid-day on flats, cruising out of channels foraging for crustaceans.Before you travel to the Keys contact Capt.
