Key West and Lower Keys

Capt. Dexter Simmons
November 11, 2003
Key West - Saltwater Fishing Report

Blustery Bonefishing

Bonefishing has still been very good in early November, up until the past few days when the winds really started to blow in from the Northeast. We expect the winds to continue to blow for a few more days, subsiding during the middle of this week Nov. 13-14 (we hope!). In the meantime, there may be some fish available in clean water along the lee of some islands along the Keys. The air and water temps are still quite warm (84 and 80 degrees respectively) and this should continue until we get a blast of cold air from a severe cold front. That means that the Bonefish, Baby Tarpon, and Permit will still be the flats fish of choice for the time being. Here are some nice looking Bonefish beauties caught and released during the past few days before the winds came. Our Father (Mother) - Son (Daughter) Key West Flats Fishing Trips are now scheduled for throughout the summer, fall and winter. For more information about the Father and Son Flats Fishing Trips go to http://www.keywestflyfishing.com You may contact Capt. Dexter Simmons for a future fishing charter by telephone at 305-745-3304 or by email at [email protected]
