Key West - Saltwater Fishing Report

If getting drunk till 4am a Sloppy Joes and then passing out at Smathers beach is not your style. Perhaps, you are interested in the fantastic fishing that surrounds our great island which is nestled between the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. Key West, only 90 miles north of Cuba, 150 miles south of Miami, and that laid back island feel, not found anywhere else in the USA.
The weather has been quite fantastic thus far in March. We have been jumping tarpon on average of 3 to 5 days a week.

If tarpon is not your thing, we can stalk the toothy critters. Sharks and barracuda are fun specials to target on the flats. Great shallow water action using a fly rod or spinning rod. Permit, and bonefish are being found quite often these days. They love the warm spring air temperatures. Sight fishing these guys with a small jig, a live crab or a 9 weight fly rod, with a favorite crab pattern. Not always the easiest fish to catch, the permit and bonefish.
However, both fish will make the fight worth while if you are lucky enough to hook one.
Catch fish and have fun!
