Summer's "big heat" is on

Capt. Richard Houde

Key West - Saltwater Fishing Report

After one of the better dolpin seasonos of the last few years, the heat of the summer along with calm seas have slowed the near shore catches of Dolphin. Boats on a full day are still reporting some decent catches out deep, but for boats only fishing half days, the dolphin fishing is very difficult. The good news is that the Yellow Tail and Mangro snapper fishing is red hot. Lots of delicious snappers are available on the shorter trips so the less ardent fishermen are still getting some great table fare to take home or to a local restaurant.

Key West Fishing Forecast:

Expect the dolphin fishing to improve if we get so me weather to stir things up. Otherwise, the snapper fishing should continue for another month or so.
