Key West - Saltwater Fishing Report

The weather man has one job, to predict the weather.
Could this be as bad a predicting if the fishing will be good or bad today? It's anyone's guess down here in Key West,Fl.
Glad to say the weather this week wasn't quite as bad as anticipated. It's that time of year when heading out flats fishing in Key West to be on the lookout for thunderstorms & squall lines. The old expression wait ten minutes and the weather will change.
The flats fishing has been good leading up to this little tropical wave. Spent some time in the skinny water flats chasing permit & bonefish last weekend. I'm happy to report greater numbers of permit back on the flats, returning from their spring time spawn.
The bonefish are around too. Elusive as ever the grey ghost. Finding a few schools on the flats containing some hungry happy fish. What a great time of year for flats fishing.
Tarpon are still swimming on the Oceanside flats. Also finding them in the backcountry in very select spots.
Big fat happy fish!!!!!!
