Marathon, Florida Keys

Marathon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Dolphin On The Rise!

The offshore Dolphin fishing the past couple weeks has greatly improved with nice catches coming in from all over the middle Keys. We managed to capture quite a few nice Dolphin on our charters this past week some up to 25lb. Also, some nice Wahoo have been coming though along the reef edge in 110-210 ft. of water. A few Sailfish have been coming through also as we caught two on a charter a few days ago and had several opportunities this week on Sails. We have been mixing in some reef and wreck fishing and have caught some nice Cobia, some large sharks up to 250lb, many Mackerel, Snappers, and Jacks up to 50lb.

The Dolphin bite has been anywhere from the reef edge in 70-80ft. of water out to 20 miles offshore. Yesterday the good bite was out 17 miles and the fish were hanging on some small slicks and under debris.

Tarpon Time!

Here at Sundance Sportfishing we love Tarpon fishing and have already been doing lots of it and have been catching some nice Tarpon at the 7 mile bridge here in Marathon. So far the fish have been up to 100lb. but look for some larger ones to show up here in the next week or two. 200lb. Tarpon are not out of the question when the migratory fish show up in decent numbers. The action will only improve in the coming weeks as the season kicks into high gear and action will be fast and furious!!

For more info on Tarpon fishing in the Florida Keys, check out our website! God luck in all of your fishing adventures.
