Marathon, Florida Keys

Capt. Bob Brown
August 10, 2002
Marathon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Night Bite Right

The Yellowtail action has been excellent lately in the Marathon and middle keys area. Lots of nice sized Yellowtail Snapper have been hanging on the reef edge in 55-95ft. of water. Some of the best areas have been off of Duck Key, Key Colony Beach and off of Bahia Honda Key. Night fishing has produced best, but some anglers have had great action during the day as well. Some large black Grouper have also been around along with some large Mutton Snapper. Look for the great reef bite to continue and night fishermen to beat the heat and score heavily on the YT's.
