Report for Naples, Marco Island and the Ten Thousand Islands

Capt. Matt Hoover
November 12, 2006
Marco Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

Non Stop

I almost hate to say anything. After the remnants of the last front went through, the weather was absolutely perfect. Cool mornings, light winds, and blue skies dominated the week. Bait was easy and so was the fishing.

Snook fishing was over the top this week. Double digit days were easy as the fish seemed to be everywhere. Most of the snook were small to medium. We did manage to get a few snook in the slot on each outing. Small to medium redfish were in the mix as well. Snapper, jacks and ladyfish were ballistic too. The action was honestly non stop.

Cold fronts will be coming with regularity. That means that in time the water temperature will begin to fall. With that, our tactics will change as well as the species that we fish for.

Get out on the water ASAP to get some of the hot bite while it lasts. I’ll see you on the water.

More Fishing Reports:

Light Tackle Spinfishing, live bait, artificial and flyfishing. I do it all. Fish for snook, redfish, trout and tarpon in the Marco Island, ten thousand islands and Everglades.
