Report for Naples, Marco Island and the Ten Thousand Islands

Capt. Matt Hoover

Marco Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

Cool Weather, Low tides

Fishing has been good this past week. Low tides and cool weather forced a different tactic. I have been hitting some near shore reefs and wrecks first thing in the morning. The mackerel, bluefish, and large ladyfish have been off the hook. We have also been catching bonito and kingfish in these spots. When the tide came in, we headed for the islands. Jigs, popping corks and shrimp, and small shiners all produced snook, jacks, and redfish. Anglers are starting to catch a few pompano as well. Winter is just around the corner and it won’t be long before we have to switch to winter tactics. I’ll see you on the water.

More Fishing Reports:

Light Tackle Spinfishing, live bait, artificial and flyfishing. I do it all. Fish for snook, redfish, trout and tarpon in the Marco Island, ten thousand islands and Everglades.
