Marco Island - Saltwater Fishing Report
Fishing this past week has been steady. Bait has left the beaches for now but is available on the near shore piles. They are real net wreckers so be careful.
I had just gotten back from visiting and fishing the Port Antonio International Marlin Tournament. We had a beautiful visit but now it's back to work at full blast. I had a very good day with Dad and his three beautiful daughters from Switzerland yesterday. I got back in the saddle like I had never left. All the credit goes to the fish and the time of year. The fall run is almost always good.
Small to medium snook were at almost every spot that we went to. Believe it or not, the real show stopper was a spot I hit where the girls were catching five pound jacks on almost every cast. If you aren't fishing for food, this kind of action is about as good as it gets. We didn't catch any redfish, but some of my buddies have been catching them all week with regularity.
As the month progresses, I will be able to give you a more comprehensive fishing report. It's good to be home. I'll see you on the water.
Marco Island Fishing Forecast:
with a front moving in this week, winds will clock out of the west for ahwile, but there is plenty of action to be had even if you aren't a live baiter.
Target Species:
