Marco Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing this past week has been excellent. For those who like to use live bait, catching them has been a no brainer as it is just about everywhere from the beach to the near shore bays and coves.
Double digit days with snook are a great possibility. I have been catching them in the south Marco area and just about everywhere in the Ten Thousand Islands. Good showings of redfish have started to make their presence known too. I have been catching up to a half a dozen on each outing and some guides have caught more than that when they "step in it."
Jacks and ladyfish have rounded out the catch. There have been a few big tarpon around so I have been keeping a few bigger rods at hand just in case.
The fall migration of bait is here. That means that fishing should be good until we get the cold fronts associated with winter. I'll see you on the water.
