Marco Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing this past week has continued to be excellent. Despite breezy conditions, I have been having very successful trips with great numbers.
Live bait is almost everywhere in the front of the islands throughout the Ten Thousand Islands. Jigs and flies have been doing their bit as well. Right after super storm Sandy passed, most of the fish moved to the back bays. This week, I started catching redfish and snook at outside spots as well so things are returning to normal.

Redfish in the slot to oversized fish have been the real stars this week.

Clients have been catching rat reds this week which means we have a new successful crop of fish showing up. Small to medium snook have been the norm too. I have had a few larger snook roast the reels this past week as well. I have not been targeting trout but have caught quite a few large trout where snook like to hang out. Folks that have been fishing for trout have been doing very well with them.
Jacks and plenty of ladyfish have been robbing baits too.

Fishing is just downright excellent so give me a call and come get some. Winter is just around the corner and we will be going after winter species so you don't want to miss the opportunity to get in on the fall action.
Target Species:

snook, redfish, tarpon, trout
