Matlacha - Saltwater Fishing Report

13 Nov 2016
Reds, snook and snapper

The last couple weeks Ive been fishing in Matlacha and Pine island sound and been having great catches no matter where I went. The water is clearing up in Matlacha pass and the sound is gorgeous making sight casting a fisherman's dream. I've been catching reds from 18- 30+ inches all over using mostly live and cut pins. Snook and live greenbacks and pins in creeks and faster moving water around islands. And finally got into some good size snapper on shrimp while searching the deep troughs. As the fall and winter come and the release of the Okeechobee cut way down the fishing should and will be great as the holidays approach us.
