04/15/2011 was decent action for trout, spanish makeral and even a couple of cobia. The snook fishing was a different story waiting for some of the big girls to eat. With a slow moving tide they didnt really want to turn on and grab a bait with a hook in it. Congrats to Gary and his two fiesty snook.

Matlacha Fishing Forecast:

Our water continues to warm and it wont belong before we are put tarpon in our sights. There are a few pods of tarpon showing up from southern charlotte harbour to the east shores of matlacha pass. I was heading in from a charter a couple days ago and saw one role just a couple hundred yards south of the matlacha bridge. As I said in a recent post. If you head out on the water bring the heavy gear as well. You never know whats going to swim up next to you. Be safe and Have fun.
