April Fishing Report - Miami, FL

Capt. Dave Kostyo
April 20, 2018
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

There have been a lot of ups and downs fishing wise since my last report. Offshore it's been a mixed bag of sailfish, sharks, kingfish, blackfin tuna, black grouper (season is still closed),and bonito.

Inshore, the tarpon action has been very sketchy. One evening you find them, the next they are not there. To take advantage of the bay tides, you have to be willing to sometimes fish some oddball hours.

Miami Fishing Forecast:

We are coming into blackfin tuna month. During May they should average between 20 to just over 30 pounds.

Grouper season opens up on May 1. They will be hit very hard that first week.

Mahi will be making a better showing and pleasing many anglers.
